Mental Health Awareness Week: Take ACTION

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year’s theme - “Take ACTION” - is a great reminder that small steps can make a meaningful difference to our wellbeing. In the words of the Mental Health Foundation: “Even small actions can help us feel hopeful and less powerless.”

As part of HPW’s support for Mental Health Awareness Week, we’ve planned a series of small mental health-boosting activities for staff during this period, including:

🌳 A nature walk to discover and appreciate the beautiful plants, trees, birds and squirrels that can be found close to our office in leafy Bristol

💃 A gentle stretching session that can be done at our desks

🧘 An online mindfulness and meditation session

A huge thank you to those colleagues who have helped to plan and lead our activities.  We hope that they provide an opportunity to pause, connect, recharge, and prioritise wellbeing during the working week.

For years, many DB trustees have operated in a world where surplus was effectively untouchable, even where schemes were extremely well funded.
